Live selling glossary
Short definitions for live selling terms: claim code, WhatsApp cart, waitlist, scanned parcel, cash-on-delivery deposit.
- Claim code
- A claim code is the short number every item shown on a live carries (from 101 up); the customer writes it in the comments to reserve exactly that item, and reservations follow comment order.
- Deposit on cash on delivery
- A deposit on cash on delivery is the amount paid in advance, by transfer, on an order paid at delivery; it covers the shipping cost if the parcel is refused and is asked from everyone, or only from new or risky customers.
- Live selling
- Live selling is selling during a live broadcast on TikTok, Instagram or Facebook, where customers reserve items in the comments and the order is completed outside the platform, usually on WhatsApp, paid at delivery or by transfer.
- Scanned parcel
- A scanned parcel is a parcel verified at packing by scanning each item’s code so the wrong size or product never ships; only after verification is the label printed and the invoice issued.
- Waitlist
- The waitlist is the line of customers who asked for an item already reserved; if the first reservation expires or is cancelled, the next customer gets the item automatically, in comment order.
- WhatsApp cart
- The WhatsApp cart is the message through which a customer receives, on WhatsApp, the items reserved from the live and confirms delivery and payment from buttons, without an account or a website.
